DIRTONDIRT.COM SET TO REWARD WORLD 100 MOTIVATION

Eldora SpeedwayRossburg,OH — Pride and inspiration are key elements to a successful dirt Late Model racing operation. For the second consecutive year, Eldora Speedway, along with DirtonDirt.com, will recognize and reward one team for their motivation at the World 100.

On Saturday afternoon, September 6, prior to the grueling qualifying heat races that will determine the starting grid for the fabled World 100, the team, voted by the media members in attendance, to be the Best Appearing Car and Crew will receive a $500 cash award, courtesy of DirtonDirt.com.

“One of the things that race fans from all over the country love about Eldora is the brand new graphic schemes that drivers come up with special for the World 100.” comments Michael Rigsby of DirtonDirt.com. “A website like ours, that is based on creativity, wanted to be part of something that rewarded that. By giving race teams a chance to make a little extra money for their creative efforts is even better in an era of $4.00 diesel fuel. Chub Frank set the bar high with his ‘Chubzilla’ paint scheme, and based on what we’re hearing from drivers so far, this year is going to be even better….we’ve also heard the crew member uniforms are going to step it up a notch.”

Established in 1971, the World 100 has grown into the crowned jewel of dirt Late Model racing, with the revered globed trophy considered to be the most sought after honor of any driver.

Consistency in format has contributed to the success of the event. Two rounds of single-lap time trials make up the Friday (Sept. 5) format, with the quickest 120 entrants advancing into Saturday’s rugged 20 car qualifying heat races. Cars failing to make the cut will be given the opportunity to compete Friday night in a non-qualifying event.

Three cars from each of the six 15-lap lap heat races advance into the World 100, while two B-Mains will each advance another four cars. The final two available positions in the 28-car starting field are reserved for the quickest two cars from time trials that didn’t advance through their heat races.

Members of the media will be given their ballot to vote on DirtonDirt.com’s valued Best Appearing Car & Crew award at the Media Luncheon Saturday afternoon, in the Eldora Ballroom.
