Rain Creates Huge Volusia Doubleheader on Friday

Super DIRTcar Series, World of Outlaws Late Models return Thursday

BARBERVILLE, Fla. — Feb. 22, 2012 — A heavy downpour rolling through Central Florida has forced Volusia Speedway Park officials to postpone Wednesday night’s racing program to Friday afternoon, creating a huge doubleheader with Friday’s regularly scheduled program.

On Friday, the first of two complete shows for the Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modifieds and DIRTcar Late Models will begin with the pits opening at 10 a.m., grandstands at 11 a.m. and on-track action at 12:30 p.m. Following the completion of the make-up event, the regularly scheduled program will run Friday night with grandstands opening at 5 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday night’s tickets will be good for Friday afternoon’s event.

Thursday’s event remains as scheduled, with grandstands opening at 5 p.m., hot laps at 6 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m. for the Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modifieds and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series.
