With three DIRTcar Sportsman Series regions complete, this weekend’s spotlight is on the North.<\/p>\n

The North Region finishes its 2024 season at Autodrome Drummond in a 40-lap battle paying $1,300-to-win (Canadian).<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a look at what to watch for at Drummond:<\/em><\/p>\n

Tight-Knit Battle: <\/strong>Gavin Eisele and 2016 DIRTcar Sportsman Series champion Shane Pecore are separated by two points at the top of the standings entering the weekend.<\/p>\n

Eisele holds the advantage over Pecore after two consecutive runner-up finishes at Can-Am Speedway in April and Brockville Ontario Speedway in May.<\/p>\n

The LaFargeville, NY driver hasn\u2019t finished outside the top five in three Series starts this season. However, he\u2019s still searching for his first Series triumph.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Pecore won at Brockville and finished fifth at Can-Am, putting him on Eisele\u2019s heels entering the weekend.<\/p>\n

The Cornwall, ON driver is one of eight winners in Series events at Drummond and aims for his 12th career Series victory.<\/p>\n

Power Play: <\/strong>Chasing the top two in the North Region standings is Jessica Power, who enters Saturday\u2019s race at Drummond in third \u2013 12 points behind Eisele.<\/p>\n

The Kingston, ON driver has a fourth and sixth in two starts this season and has found past success at Drummond.<\/p>\n

Power has three top fives in six starts at the Quebec track, and her best finish was a third in 2015.<\/p>\n

Beating the Quebecois: <\/strong>The DIRTcar Sportsman Series North Region stars will have a stout field of regional competitors to battle at Drummond.<\/p>\n

Bryan Preville and Kevan Poliquin are coming off wins at the \u201cF1 of Dirt,\u201d reaching Victory Lane during the Super DIRTcar Series King of the North<\/em> last week.<\/p>\n

Poliquin is also the current points leader at Drummond, holding a 25-point lead over Raphael Gougeon, Samuel Lajoie, and Gorden Clair.<\/p>\n

Gougeon and Martin Lessard join Preville and Poliquin as winners at the track this season.<\/p>\n
