The driver from Crane, Mo., lead every lap of the 40-lap main event only to cross the scales afterwards light. Vaught’s misfortune handed $10,000 to Muscatine, Iowa’s Brian Birkhofer who was Vaught’s fellow front row starter. Birkhofer closed within a carlenght of Vaught late, all while being challenged by Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, Ill. until Babb himself succumb to mechanical woes on lap 38.<\/p>\n
Chatham, Ill. driver Brian Shirley finished 2nd behind Birkhofer, while Ryan Unzicker of El Paso, Ill., Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill., and Waterville, Ohio’s Matt Miller rounded out the top five.<\/p>\n
