After opening the season at Bear Ridge Speedway, the DIRTcar Sportsman Series East Region returns to action this weekend at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park.

Race two of the four-race regional schedule will be at “The Ridge” on Sunday, May 19. Drivers will battle in a 40-lap Feature paying $1,000-to-win.

Joining the DIRTcar Sportsman Series on the card are the DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, DIRTcar Pro Stocks, DIRTcar 4-Cylinders, Limited Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Slingshots.

Here’s a look at what to watch for this weekend:

Max Leads the Charge: After winning his first DIRTcar Sportsman Series Feature at Bear Ridge, Max Dolliver enters Glen Ridge as the East Region points leader. The Londonderry, NH driver outlasted Jason Gray in traffic, leading the final 21 laps to earn the $1,000 prize.

Gray’s Chance to Strike: For the second consecutive season, Gray kicked off his chase for an East Region championship with a podium finish at Bear Ridge.

The East Thetford, VT driver has made two previous Series starts at Glen Ridge, finishing 13th last year and 21st in 2021. Gray is aiming for his third career Series victory and first outside of Bear Ridge.

Defending the Ridge: Glen Ridge opened its 2024 season last weekend with a familiar face in Victory Lane.

Zach Buff, who finished second in the track’s points standings last season, earned his 10th career Feature win last Sunday.

The Latham, NY driver also finished third in last year’s DIRTcar Sportsman Series East Region event at “The Ridge,” and is searching for his first Series victory.

Buff will compete against the drivers he competes against weekly this Sunday, including Brendan Gibbons, Taylor Wason, and Cody Ochs, who all earned top five finishes on opening night.

All three drivers competed in last year’s East Region event, earning a top-15 finish. Ochs’ fifth-place finish was the highest out of those three drivers.

Ochs has six career wins at Glen Ridge, while Gibbons has three. Wason is aiming for his first win at the track.
