In 2026, Tristan Ladouceur went unbeaten against weekly competition at Mohawk International Raceway.
And with the best Sportsman drivers in the Northeast visiting his home track Friday night, he kept that streak alive.
The Alexandria, ON driver led every lap to score his 12th Feature win of the season at Mohawk, and his second consecutive DIRTcar Sportsman Series Feature win.
Ladouceur and Gavin Eisele led the field to the green in the 35-lap Feature, with Ladouceur gaining the early advantage. He stayed out front for the first seven circuits before the race’s only caution flew for Albany-Saratoga Speedway track champion Connor Crane.
When the race resumed, Ladouceur again gained the advantage over Eisele, this time opening over a second lead. Eisele kept cutting that gap for most of the race and got within four-tenths of a second on two occasions in lap traffic.
But it wasn’t enough to catch Ladouceur out front, who went on to earn the $1,500 prize, extending his Series lead to 48 points over Richard Murtaugh, who finished fifth.
“The top was my preferred line,” Ladouceur said. “And I was starting to struggle to get around them. I picked a few off on the bottom, and I felt pretty good, and I said I need a Hail Mary up top to make something work. I’m just really happy to cap off a great season.”
Eisele, from LaFargeville, NY, crossed the line second to Ladouceur for the second straight weekend. He said it was a good run for his third time racing at the track.
“[Ladouceur] was good right off the drop of the green,” Eisele said. “I thought we got to him a little bit toward the halfway point, but it was just a little too late.”
Reigning DIRTcar Sportsman Series champion Shane Pecore rounded out the podium, earning his first top three in this year’s championship season.
“The quality field we have in the redraw, any one of those guys can win on any given night,” Pecore said. “I came from 10th to third, and that’s a good quality win in my book. It was going to be tough to get to the next two, but we kept plugging away and passed some really good cars.
Joshua Jock crossed the line fourth.
