Lancaster, NY – Pat McGrail of Candiac, Quebec-Canada finished second in the first-ever DIRTcar 358 Asphalt Modified Series race at Airborne Park Speedway in Plattsburgh, N.Y., with his new Troyer-built mount. When the Series returned to action just 6-days later McGrail was able to put together a near perfect performance. After drawing the pole for the 50-lap event in the customary redraw, McGrail led all 50-laps enroute to his first DIRTcar victory.
“We had a great car tonight,” stated McGrail. “Billy Colton at Troyer’s gave me a car that anyone could have driven. I want to thank my crew and everyone that helps us. This is a great victory for our team.”
McGrail was able to hold off Keith Flach of Ravena, N.Y., who started second and had to recover from multiple pit stops and a flat tire before working his way back to second at the finish.
Matt DeLorenzo of Cropseyville, New York finished third with Vermont’s Vince Quenneville and Central New York’s Tony Steiner rounding out the top-five.
James Henry of Niagara Falls, New York was the highest finishing DIRTcar Sportsman Modified and claimed the preferred qualifying spot for the DIRTcar Sportsman Modified portion Super DIRT Week XLI (41) later this year.
