Larry Fink Overseeing DIRTcar Track Preparation at Rolling Wheels, N.Y. State Fairgrounds

ELBRIDGE, N.Y. — May 25, 2011 — The Third Annual DIRTcar All-Star Weekend event on Sunday, May 29, at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park might be the season opener for the Big-Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series, but one thing competitors can look forward to is a new approach to preparing the racing surface.

DIRTcar Racing knows that for superstar drivers to showcase their skills, the condition of the track is critical. With that in mind, DIRTcar has added Larry Fink to its team as the Manager of Track Facilities to ensure quality racing surfaces for its competitors at not only Rolling Wheels Raceway, but many significant DIRTcar and World of Outlaws events, including Super DIRT Week at the New York State Fairgrounds.

Fink, along with Lernerville Speedway’s Chad Alchier, has prepared the track surface for Rolling Wheel’s events during Super DIRT Week for the past three years. The popular team has also worked together for Volusia Speedway Park’s 12-night Florida DIRTcar Nationals since 2007.  This season marks the first full season that Fink will lead the team charged with manicuring the fast 5/8-mile oval and the upcoming Super DIRT Week XL at the New York State Fairgrounds.

“I’m excited to be part of DIRTcar and the World of Outlaws,” said Fink, whose father Harvey has been a long-time promoter and track operator in Central New York. “I really enjoy traveling to different DIRTcar and World of Outlaws events all over the country and the challenge of working with all of the different kinds of dirt. No two tracks are the same but we always have the same goal of giving drivers and fans the best possible racing surface.”

In addition to his presence at Rolling Wheels, Fink will be highly visible during Super DIRT Week in Syracuse as he’ll be tasked with making certain the overall venue at the New York State Fairgrounds is prepared before turning his attention to the notorious “Moody Mile” for the 40th running of the biggest dirt track event in the world.
