Early spring precipitation combined with unseasonably cold temperatures have delayed the 2010 Hoosier Tire-VP Racing Fuels Mr. DIRTcar Pro Stock Championship Series opener one month, with top full-fender point chasers now preparing for their customary haul to Cornwall (Ont.) Motor Speedway for the ‘Minute Auto Wash 50’ on Sunday, May 23.
Rain forced Can-Am Motorsports Park officials to scrap the entire weekend card in Mid-April, moving the 16th annual tour-lifter north of the border for the first time in series history.
So far Glen Ridge Motorsports Park (Fri.), Lebanon Valley Speedway (Sat.) and Fonda Speedway (Sat.) have been the lone tracks in New York State to defy the weatherman, with Pennsylvania ovals Lernerville Speedway and Pittsburgh’s Penn Motor Speedway also running Pro Stock events on the DIRTcar Northeast circuit to help launch a new decade.
Joining the aforementioned Empire State trio as they play host to DIRTcar Pro Stocks every week this season will be Mohawk Int’l Raceway (May 7 opener), autodromes Granby (May 7) and Drummond (May 15), and Cornwall (May 16).
