DIRTcar Pro Stock Series: 2012 season recap

In his last full season in a Pro Stock, Joey Ladouceur took the division’s highest honor, winning the DIRTcar Pro Stock Series Championship. The 2013 season brings Ladouceur, of Alexandria, Ontario, into a Sportsman Modified that he plans to run weekly at his home track, Cornwall Motor Speedway.

Ladouceur, who was the defending series champion heading into the 2012 opener, faced an immediate challenge from Rob Yetman, who won DIRTcar Pro Stock Series events in Quebec at Autodrome Granby and Autodrome Drummond, Ladouceur finishing second in the former and fourth in the latter.

When the series invaded Ladouceur’s home track after weather postponed Cornwall’s June opener to mid-July, Ladouceur charged to his first win of the series. He picked up his second series win of the season in September at Mohawk International Raceway. In the NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week Pro Stock 25 presented by BACC-OFF at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, Ladouceur finished second to Pete Stefanski.

Another second-place finish at the Pro Stock Series finale at Brockville Ontario Speedway brought Ladouceur the championship. Stephane Lebrun took the feature win in the series finale at Brockville.
