With 30 laps ahead of him and a slew of veteran talent behind him, Tyler Bushey withstood the pressure from the field at Can-Am Speedway Wednesday night to bag the first DIRTcar Pro Stock Series Feature win of 2022.
In Victory Lane, Bushey was ecstatic, nearly in disbelief of his accomplishment – one where he held off strong talent in Mike White, ringer Luke Horning and multi-time NAPA Super DIRT Week champion Rob Yetman for the $1,000 victory.
“I’m more shocked than anything,” Bushey said. “We’ve been struggling, but the car felt really good tonight. I just held it on the bottom and looked forward.”
The Heuvelton, NY-native led all 30 laps of the Feature at his home track, kicking off his Series championship hopes with a bang after an eighth-place result in last year’s standings.
