May marks the third month of Hoosier Tire-VP Racing Fuels Mr. DIRTcar Championship Series competition in 2010 with all the action saved for the final week in three of the Northeast’s top touring divisions.
The opening round of the Pro Stock Series is scheduled during a special visit to Cornwall (Ont.) Motor Speedway in a big 50-lapper on Sun., May 23, while Small-Block stars cross the border on Victoria Day for the lead-off 358-Modified Series show at Merrittville (Ont.) Speedway on Mon., May 24 featuring a $4,000-to-win 100-lap finale.
Slated to close out the first full month of activity on the DIRTcar Northeast circuit is a return of the tradition-laden Hall of Fame Classic at Cayuga County Fair Speedway on Sun., May 30. Super DIRTcar Series contenders will be chasing a $6,000 top prize in the 100-lap Big-Block Modified main run over Memorial Day Weekend, which is the third extra-distance event on the ’10 champ trail.
Overall Hoosier-VP Racing Fuels Mr. DIRTcar champions will be determined in 2010 by tabulating points earned in the Super DIRTcar Series for Big-Block Modifieds and the Mr. DIRTcar Championship Series for 358-Modified, Sportsman and Pro Stock teams, along with bonuses collected at a driver’s respective home track in divisional DIRTcar Regional Racing Series. Those valuable track bonus points will be issued after Labor Day with each licensed track champion receiving 1,000 points down to the 25th-place driver who earns 900 at his best track during the year.
