Pro Stock Series Kicks off in Quebec with Doubleheader June 21 and 22

Rob Yetman Gearing up for Series, Hoping for Hundredth Win

WEEDSPORT, N. Y. – The DIRTcar Pro Stock Series kick off Friday, June 21, and with last year’s champion out of the running, it’s bound to be a battle to the finish for the full-fender field. The series takes Quebec by storm that whole weekend, running at Autodrome Granby Friday, June 21, and Le RPM Speedway the very next night, Saturday June 22.

After a landmark year, claiming his hundredth Pro Stock win and another championship in the series, Joey Ladouceur left his Pro Stock behind for a Sportsman Modified. In his wake, a number of Pro Stock racers are clamoring for the top spot, including Castleton’s Rob Yetman.

“I’m a little more focused than last year. I think we learned a couple things,” said Yetman, who made it to second in series points last year. “We hope to better it by one, but there will be some tough competition as there always is.”

Yetman expressed confidence in his ability to tackle the semi-banked half-mile oval at Autodrome Granby, where he captured one of his two series wins in 2012.

“That’s a place we’re really good at,” Yetman said. “Granby’s awesome. It’s great racing.”

Le RPM Speedway, hosting the DIRTcar Pro Stock Series Saturday, June 22, may be more of a challenge to Yetman, who has not raced there recently. To get some tips on how to approach the unfamiliar oval, Yetman called former rival Ladouceur.

“We’re anxious to get going on the series,” Yetman said. “We have a few milestones we’re trying to get here. We recently got our 97th win – we’d like to hit that hundred mark. I never thought I’d be looking at that in my racing career, but it might happen.”

Joining the 50-lap Pro Stock Series race Friday, June 21, at Autodrome Granby will be a 50-lap feature for the Modifieds and a 25-lapper for Sportsman Modifieds. For more information about Friday’s races at Autodrome Granby, visit http://www.autodrome-granby.com.

The Saturday, June 22, 50-lap Pro Stock Series event at Le RPM Speedway will be joined by twin 40-lap features for the Modifieds as well as features for the Lightning Sprints and Mini-Mods. For information about Saturday’s race at Le RPM Speedway, visit http://www.lerpmspeedway.com.
