July 1, 2013 – Roch Aubin wins Pro Stock Series feature at Cornwall Speedway
Cornwall Native Fends off Challenges from Lebrun, Bissonnette

CORNWALL, ONTARIO – Wednesday, July 3, 2013 – Despite difficult conditions posed by Mother Nature, local Cornwall Pro Stock driver Roch Aubin charged to Pro Stock Series win at Cornwall Motor Speedway Monday, July 1.
A light drizzle hit the track just as the last feature race of the night took the green flag, but the DIRTcar Pro Stock drivers persevered and put on a thrilling show for the Canada Day crowd at the Ontario quarter-mile. Aubin started the 50-lapper in the lead after drawing the top spot, but two cautions with the first five laps posed a challenge for the early race leader. Stephane Lebrun took an opportunity off the lap 6 restart to steal the lead with Aubin.
Another yellow flag in lap 9 slowed the pace, but Lebrun stayed ahead for the restart, as well as those in laps 14, 19 and 20. However, with a few green laps, Aubin had the opportunity to gain ground on Lebrun, and passed him in lap 24.
Aubin outlasted one more restart, as well as multiple challenges from Dave Bissonnette in the No. 47 and steadily heavier rainfall, to take the win at Cornwall Motor Speedway.
“It was my biggest win,” Aubin said. “It was been raining ever since we took the green flag and, after five laps, I ran out of the rag I have to wipe my helmet, and after 20 laps I was completely out of tear-offs. But, we held in there, even with a few battles from the 47 and Stephane Lebrun in the 6.”
Bissonnette finished second and Lebrun came in third at the checkered. Rounding out the top fiver are George Renaud in fourth and Rob Yetman in fifth.
