WEEDSPORT, N.Y. – Sept. 9, 2011 – The DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Series prepares for a three-race weekend as the hectic end-of-the-year schedule kicks
into high gear.
Eight races at eight different racetracks close out the 2011 DIRTcar Sportsman Series schedule, starting this weekend.
On Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, the Sportsman teams roll into Ransomville Speedway for a 50-lap thriller, followed on Saturday by a 50-lap feature at
Merrittville Speedway. The busy weekend concludes with a 30-lap feature on Sunday at Humberstone Speedway.
Then, on Friday, Sept. 16, the stars of the DIRTcar Sportsman Series head to Mohawk International Speedway before invading Brighton Speedway on Friday,
Sept. 23 for the popular Applefest Shootout.
The DIRTcar Sportsman Series will once again play a major role in Super DIRT Week XL on Oct. 5-9. The series invades CMP Presents Weedsport Speedway on
Wednesday of Super DIRT Week XL before having their fall classic on the Syracuse Mile on Saturday, Oct. 8.
The DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Series will crown its champion at the DIRTcar Fall Nationals on Oct. 16 at Brockville Ontario Speedway with a special
50-lap feature currently scheduled.
Defending DIRTcar Sportsman Series champion Tim Sears Jr. leads the points-chase heading into the final-stretch of the season. Bodie Bellinger, using
16 top-10 finishes to his credit, won the inagural Mr. DIRTcar Weekly Sportsman crown.
