35-lap main event pays $1,000-to-win on Wednesday, June 3
WEEDSPORT, N.Y. – June 2, 2015 – DIRTcar Sportsman Modified drivers from New York, Ontario and Quebec will strap in Wednesday, June 3, at Can-Am Motorsports Park in LaFargeville, N.Y., in pursuit of the $1,000 top prize on Bear World Discount Beverage/Blinky’s Liquors Night.
The 35-lap main event is the second series race of the season. The DIRTcar Sportsman Series moves to Autodrome Drummond in Drummondville, Quebec, Monday, July 20.
St. Catherines, Ontario rivals Brad Rouse and James Michael Friesen were 1-2 in a photo finish in the series opener at Fulton Speedway.
The Merrittville Speedway stars will go up against 2014 DIRTcar Sportsman champion Mathieu Desjardins of Sorel, Quebec, 2014 Brockville Ontario Speedway champion Shane Pecore and top Can-Am runners such as Josh VanBrocklin and Taylor Caprara of Watertown, NY, Anthony Stockman and Jessica Powers of Kingston, ONT.
Wednesday’s race card includes a Pro Street $500-to-win, $100-to-start event and a $500-to-win Rush DIRT Late Model event.
Post time is 7:30 p.m. Grandstands open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is Adults/$12, ages 13-15/$10, ages 12 and under free when accompanied by an adult.
