Here’s a look at what to watch for at Land of Legends and Bear Ridge:
Central Region
Central Momentum: Entering the second Central Region race of 2024, two drivers gained valuable momentum by reaching Victory Lane.
Nick Root (Weedsport) and Emmett Waldron (Fulton) both won at their home tracks last weekend and aim to keep that momentum rolling into Land of Legends.
Between the two drivers, Root has more experience. He’s currently second in points at Land of Legends with a win and five top fives in six starts this season.
In two DIRTcar Sportsman Series starts in 2023, the Geneva, NY driver finished 23rd and ninth.
Meanwhile, Waldron has one DIRTcar Sportsman Series start at Land of Legends, finishing 14th.
Defending the Land: Land of Legends points leader Zach Sobotka also gained momentum last weekend, winning his second Feature at the track in six starts last Saturday.
The Parish, NY driver is a six-time DIRTcar Sportsman Series winner. However, his only Series win at the Canandaigua, NY, oval was in June 2020.
Tyler Corcoran, who already has a Series win in 2024, also aims to return to Victory Lane this weekend. In his career, Corcoran won the North Region opener at Can-Am Speedway in April and has two Series wins at Land of Legends.
Matt Guererri and Kevin Ridley reached Victory Lane at Land of Legends in 2024 and own a DIRTcar Sportsman Series victory at the track. Ridley’s came in 2008, while Guererri’s came in 2021.

East Region
Title Fight Continues: Saturday marks the third DIRTcar Sportsman Series East Region event of the season and the second at Bear Ridge Speedway.
It’s a home track advantage that East Region points leader Jason Gray aims to use as his advantage after finishing second during the region opener.
In five East Region starts at the 1/4-mile bullring since 2021, the East Thetford, VT driver hasn’t finished off the podium. That includes two trips to Victory Lane.
Gray is also the track’s points leader and earned a win last weekend.
Chasing Gray in the standings is Jeremy Huntoon, who’s 12 points out of first on the strength of two sixth-place finishes.
Huntoon’s best Series finish, a fifth, came at Bear Ridge in 2022.
The Ridge Boys: Gray and Huntoon must battle Bear Ridge’s best to win a DIRTcar Sportsman Series event.
Saturday means the return of Max Dolliver, who won the opening East Region Feature in May. Dolliver hasn’t finished worse than second in his last two Series starts, a trend he aims to continue this weekend.
Dolliver enters the event second in Bear Ridge points as he chases Gray for a track championship.
Meanwhile, Robert Tucker has momentum heading into the weekend after winning one of three DIRTcar Sportsman Features last Saturday.
Tucker has finished on the podium in two of his last three DIRTcar Sportsman Series starts, including a third-place finish in May.
