WHAT TO WATCH FOR: DIRTcar Sportsman Series Central Region Returns to Action at Brewerton

Gavin Eisele

The top DIRTcar Sportsman drivers in Central, NY are ready to conquer the “D-Shaped Dirt Demon.”

The DIRTcar Sportsman Series Central Region returns to action at the Brewerton Speedway in Central Square, NY, on Friday, June 27, for its second event of the 2025 season. Drivers will battle in a 30-lap Feature paying $1,000-to-win.

Joining the Central Region in action on Friday are the DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds, Mod Lites, and 4-Cylinders.

Here’s a look at the key storylines entering Brewerton:

A Hot Start: After falling short of winning the North Region title last season, Gavin Eisele has already leaped toward a Central Region championship in 2025.

The LaFargeville, NY driver held off defending overall Series champion Cody McPherson in the regional opener at Weedsport Speedway last month.

Eisele is a three-time Series winner, earning two Feature wins at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park and Fulton Speedway last season. He’s made one Series start at Brewerton in his career, finishing 10th in 2021.

Demon Favorites: When it comes to Brewerton’s DIRTcar Sportsman division in 2025, no one has been better than Tyler Corcoran.

The Central Square, NY driver has won two of the five Features this season and has finished in the top 10 in all of them.

Corcoran is already a DIRTcar Sportsman Series winner in 2025, winning the North Region opener at Can-Am Speedway in April.  He’s aiming for his eighth career Series win.

Chasing Corcoran in the track’s point standings through five races are Tony Finch II and Jason Parkhurst Jr., who’ve won the other three Features.

Finch, who won last Friday, has made three DIRTcar Sportsman Series starts at the track, earning a fourth in 2015. That’s also his best career Series finish. The Syracuse, NY, driver knows the path to Victory Lane at Brewerton, winning on five occasions.

Parkhurst, meanwhile, is a two-time winner at Brewerton this season. Like Finch, the Fulton, NY driver is searching for his first Series victory after opening the Central Region with a seventh-place finish last month.

His best Series finish came last year when he finished third in a Central Region event at Fulton.

Keeping Pace: Current Fulton points leader Emmett Waldron is aiming to keep his momentum rolling after earning his second win of the season at the track last Saturday.

Emmett Waldron and Cody McPherson

The Savannah, NY driver narrowly missed out on the win at Weedsport in May, leading most of the race before falling to third at the end. However, Friday is expected to be Waldron’s first Series start at Brewerton.

Another driver bringing momentum into Friday’s event is Hunter Hollenbeck, who finished fourth at Weedsport earlier this season. The Fulton, NY driver won Wednesday’s DIRTcar Sportsman Feature at Fulton and aims to stay hot on his trip to Brewerton.

In seven Series starts, Hollenbeck has two top fives and four top 10s.
