An epic battle in the “Great White North” brings the highest stakes of the season for the DIRTcar Sportsman Series, with one driver being crowned the 2025 champion.

Drivers will visit Brockville Ontario Speedway in Brockville, ON, for night two of Fall Nationals on Saturday, Oct. 18. A $2,100 (CAN) prize is on the line in the 50-lap points-paying finale of the 2025 season.

Joining the DIRTcar Sportsman Series are the DIRTcar 358 Modified Series and the track’s Street Stocks and Vintage divisions.

Here’s a look at what to watch for at Brockville:

Separated By Four: Entering Saturday’s DIRTcar Sportsman Series championship finale, 2016 Series champion Shane Pecore holds a four-point lead over Emmett Waldron.

Both drivers are coming off strong runs in the Great Lakes 75 at Super DIRT Week 53, with Waldron finishing second and Pecore moving up 30 spots to finish fourth.

While Waldron is in striking distance, Pecore’s experience at Brockville may give him an advantage at the Canadian oval. Four of the Cornwall, ON driver’s 13 career Series victories have come at Brockville, including a North Region triumph earlier this season.

Waldron, from Savannah, NY, has made one start at Brockville in his career, finishing sixth in last year’s finale.

If both drivers tie in the final standings, Waldron will be crowned the 2025 champion by virtue of his victory in the Sportsman Classic at Weedsport. That means if Waldron either wins the race or beats Pecore by two positions, he’ll win the championship.

Down But Not Out: While he’s not within single digits of the points lead, Tristan Ladouceur enters the weekend 19 points behind Pecore, and mathematically eligible to win the title.

The Alexandria, ON driver has made four DIRTcar Sportsman Series starts at Brockville, with two top-five finishes. That includes a third-place finish in the North Region event won by Pecore earlier this season.

Ladouceur is searching for his first DIRTcar Sportsman Series win.

The Beasts of Brockville: With one final chance to defend home turf, Brockville’s best Sportsman drivers will aim to take the Fall Nationals crown on Saturday.

Bobby Herrington dominated the 2025 season at the 1/4-mile facility, earning the track title with six wins and 13 top fives in 14 starts. The Elgin, ON driver is also a past winner of this event, scoring victories in 2022 and 2024. Herrington finished fourth in this season’s North Region event in July.

Series driver Jessica Power finished second in the track’s points standings and reached Victory Lane on one occasion at Brockville this season. Like Herrington, the Kingston, ON driver has a DIRTcar Sportsman Series win at the track, earning her lone Series triumph at Brockville in 2022.

She enters the weekend sixth in Series points, 15 points behind Great Lakes 75 winner Richard Murtaugh for fifth.

Dylan Kirkland is another driver to watch on Saturday, as he aims for his first Series victory. The Maitland, ON driver earned a win, 13 top fives, and 14 top 10s at the track this season and finished third in points.
