Bardstown, KY-May 15, 2011- Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell are set to present a full plate of racing action this Saturday May 21 at the ½ mile high-banked Nelson County clay oval as UMP Street Stocks will race for $300 to win and the front wheel drive Compacts division also debuts at Bluegrass Speedway on May 21, along with all other divisions.
The May 14 racing program at Bluegrass Speedway will highlight the UMP Street Stock division in a $300 to win main event. Also on the racing card for May 14 will be the 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, racing for $1,000 to win, the Country 100.9 MIKE FM UMP Modifieds racing for $500 to win, the Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman racing for $200 to win, and the Compacts division will also be in action and their feature event payoff will be as follows: 1st- $100, 2nd- $75, 3rd- $60, 4th- $50, 5th- $40, 6th- $35, and 7th place on back will be $30 to start. Rules for the Compacts division are listed under the rules section on the track website at www.bluegrass-speedway.com. For the May 21 event, the Super Late Model and UMP Street Stock divisions will time trial, while the UMP Modifieds, UMP Sportsman, and Compacts will pill draw for heat race starting assignments.
Activities at Bluegrass Speedway for the May 21 event will the pit area will open at 4:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m., with practice set to begin at 6:30 p.m. Time trials will get underway at 7:00 p.m., with racing set for the green flag at or before 8:00 p.m. Ticket prices for the May 21 event in the general admission area will be $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, with children age 5 and under free. A pit pass will be $25.
Of note, the American Modified Series event that was weathered out on May 14 has been rescheduled for Saturday June 4, along with all other divisions on the racing card that evening.
Bluegrass Speedway last raced on April 30 and feature event winners included Darrell Lanigan of Union, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models and Michael England of Glasgow, KY in Country 100.9 MIKE FM UMP Modifieds. The Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman and UMP Street Stocks were not in competition.
