DIRTcar Street Stocks Take on New Name and Exciting Schedule in 2010

Weedsport, NYWeedsport, NY – It’s a NEW NAME for the new year, as DIRTcar NorthEast announces that the Street Stocks division will adopt it’s parent name, DIRTcar Stock Cars, in 2010 as the series looks to remain uniform under the sanctioning body.

“All DIRTcar licensed drivers compete nationally with other full-fendered racers across the country for DIRTcar national points under the “DIRTcar Stock Car” identification, said Cory Reed, DIRTcar NE Track GM, “We plan a renewed focus on full-fendered racing in Central New York, so the name change at this time makes sense.”

Aside from the new name, very few rule changes have been adopted for the 2010 season. One jack bolt per corner will be allowed, while the minimum weight of the cars has been lowered to 3000 lbs. or 2800 lbs. for GM 602 Crate engine. The only other change is that steel beadlocks will be allowed will be allowed on both the right front and the right rear beginning next year. Copies of the 2010 DIRTcar NE Stock Car Class are now available.

With each coming day the 2010 Schedules for Cayuga County Fair Speedway, Canandaigua Speedway, and Rolling Wheels Raceway are being finalized as General Manager Cory Reed is putting the finishing touches on what will be the most aggressive and electrifying schedules to date. Plans are also in the works for a Tri-Track Championship in 2010 as the DIRTcar Stock Cars continue to be an integral part of the schedule at all three Central NY tracks. Stay tuned as details will be released in the coming weeks regarding the Tri-Track Championship Series.

“We plan to provide full-fendered racers plenty of racing in 2010”, Reed added. “The DIRTcar Stock Car class weekly puts on one of the cleanest and most competitive races on a race night so we are happy to have them an integral part of our program. Between our three tracks the Stock Car class will be on the card more than thirty times. We are planning some extra distance shows and have some other surprises in store to satisfy our full-fender drivers and fans.”
