DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, Sportsman Modifieds and Stock Cars headline special race night Thursday, June 26 ELBRIDGE, N.Y. – A new season at Rolling Wheel Raceway Park, the premier motorsports venue of Central New York and the Finger Lakes Region, is set to open Thursday, June 26, with the first of two scheduled DIRTcar ‘Thursday Night Thunder’ events.
As its name suggests, DIRTcar ‘Thursday Night Thunder’ features the rumbling of the mighty DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, along with action-packed racing for the DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds and DIRTcar Stock Cars. “The Fast Track” is sure to live up to its reputation for this midweek spectacular.
“Rolling Wheels well known throughout the region for more than its high-speed straightaways on the famed 5/8-mile oval,” said Jeff Hachmann, the speedway’s General Manager. “For years, the track has played host to some of the best events on dirt, bringing nationally touring series with the biggest names in motorsports. Matt Sheppard, Billy Decker, Daryn Pittman and ‘The King’ Steve Kinser have all picked up wins at Rolling Wheels, all against highly competitive fields of drivers.”
A week after the raceway’s opener, the Super DIRTcar Big-Block Modified Series and the Empire Super Sprints join forces for a night of thrills Thursday, July 3. Another DIRTcar ‘Thursday Night Thunder’ follows, featuring the DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, Racesaver 305 Sprint Cars and DIRTcar Stock Cars on Thursday, July 24.
The Empire Super Sprints return to “The Fast Track” Saturday, Sept. 27, for their series championship accompanied by the Go Nuclear Late Model Series. Rolling Wheels Raceway’s season closes on a high note with a NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week Special Saturday, Oct. 11, featuring “The Greatest Show on Dirt,” the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series. Fans who purchase tickets for the October race in advance will receive a FREE Fan Pit Pass.
