As the warm summer skies fall upon June and July, so does the annual challenge of racing every day for over a month with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals.

Traveling over 5,000 miles in 2025, the renowned Hell Tour will endure 31 race nights in a 34-day timespan and visit nine states. Weekly championships will be up for grabs, alongside the overall titles for the Late Models and the DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals.

Points fund money amassing over $150,000 will be distributed every week to the Late Models, with $10,000 to the points champion of each week. Overall points standings will also be kept, awarding another $10,000 bonus to the 2025 DIRTcar Summer Nationals champion.

The Summit Modifieds will race in 27 races through the 34-day schedule and will then continue to their season finale in the Prairie Dirt Classic at Fairbury Speedway on July 25-26, with a $5,000 check going to the 2025 Modified champion.

Here’s what to keep an eye on in the Hell Tour:

New Challengers Appear – A mixed bag of Super Late Model racing’s veterans and fresh faces will appear on the Hell Tour to chase the honor of being a champion.

Kyle Bronson appeared for limited races between 2017-2020, winning his only Feature at Tri-City Speedway. Five years removed with his time being devoted to the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Models presented by DIRTVision, the Floridian is back to chase the championship for the first time.

Bronson is not the only Floridian invading the Summer Nationals, as 2023 Hunt The Front Super Dirt Series Rookie of the Year, Trey Mills, joins the Hell Tour for a title run after making 10 starts in 2024. The 17-year-old picked up a high of second place in the season finale at Wayne County Speedway.

For the first time in his career, Kingston, GA native Tyler Millwood will tackle the Summer Nationals aboard his Rocket Chassis No. 31. Millwood’s time in the Midwest includes starts at Fairbury Speedway, Tri-City Speedway, and Farmer City Raceway, but has primarily raced in the southeastern United States in 2025.

General Terbo – Reigning Summer Nationals champ Tyler Erb is back to chase his second consecutive title aboard the Best Performance Motorsports No. 1.

In his first crack at the tour last year, the New Waverly, TX driver won 11 Features, along with 18 top-10s in the 19 races he participated in 2024.

“Terbo” has not lost a step since his first crowning achievement, winning three DIRTcar Late Model Features and the Dairyland Showdown opener with the World of Outlaws. Erb also brought a Dukes of Hazzard-inspired General Lee Charger to a podium result in the Thursday Feature.

Illinois Invaders – The best drivers that call Illinois “home” will look to reclaim the title for the first time since Oakwood, IL’s Bobby Pierce in 2022.

Among the national Late Model drivers planning to join for the first leg of the tour are four-time champion Brian Shirley and three-time champ Dennis Erb Jr.

Since 2015, Jason Feger has finished top five in points in eight out of 10 seasons, with his latest run ending with third in the standings. The 2010 champion will return with the familiar No. 25 to chase his second Hell Tour titles.

Young, Scrappy & Hungry – The national UMP Modified scene has seen a youth movement of drivers in their 20s taking control of the points in the top UMP Modified leagues as the Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals awaits.

Current MARS Modified Championship points leader, 22-year-old Cole Falloway, won his first two career Summit Modified Features at I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park and Lincoln Speedway last season. In 2025, he won a career-high five Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals Golden Gators.

Behind him in the MARS top five that are aged below 25 include second-place Trevor Neville (24), third-place Brad DeYoung (23), and fifth-place Michael Ledford (20). The outlier is fourth-place, 49-year-old Ray Bollinger, who won his first Feature of the season on Friday at Lincoln (IL) Speedway.
