American Modified Series 2011 Championship March Begins at Lake Cumberland Speedway May 7

American Modified SeriesGlasgow, KY-May 1, 2011- The American Modified Series will begin its sophomore of sanctions UMP Modified special events and its march toward the 2011 AMS championship this Saturday evening May 7 with the tour’s first-ever visit at Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, KY.  Of note for this event only on the 2011 tour, this race will award American Modified Series championship points, but UMP national points will not be awarded at this event.

On Saturday May 7 at Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, KY, the American Modified Series will present a full program of practice, group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the $1,500 to win American Modified Series A-Main.  Other divisions in competition at Lake Cumberland Speedway on May 7 will include Super Late Models, Super Dirt Stocks, Front Wheel Drives, and Open Four Cylinders.

Activities for the May 7 Lake Cumberland Speedway event will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:30 p.m.  The driver’s meeting will be at 6:30 p.m., with practice set for 7:00 p.m., followed by time trials and racing.  Ticket prices for the May 7 Lake Cumberland Speedway event will see general admission ticket prices be $15, while a pit pass will be $35.

The A-Main purse for the May 7 Lake Cumberland Speedway event is as follows:  1st- $1,500, 2nd- $750, 3rd- $600, 4th- $550, 5th- $500, 6th- $450, 7th- $400, 8th- $350, 9th- $325, 10th- $300, 11th- $275, 12th- $250, 13th- $230, 14th- $220, 15th through 22nd- $200 to start.
