American Modified Series Has Big Money Weekend on Tap for July 23-24 in Central Kentucky

American Modified SeriesGLASGOW, Ky. — The American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will return after a few weeks off with its biggest money weekend of the year with a pair of $3,000 to win/$250 to start event in Central Kentucky. The tour will visit Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Ky., on Friday July 23 for the 6th Annual Summer Shootout, followed by an hour drive up the road to Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, Ky., on Saturday July 24 for the 10th Annual Bluegrass Rumble.

On Friday, July 23, at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Ky., the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will present a full program of practice, A-B Group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 30 lap, $3,000-to-win 6th Annual Summer Shootout A-Main. Local divisions in competition at Ponderosa Speedway on July 23 will include Super Late Models, Pro Late Models, and UMP Sportsman.

On Saturday July 24 at Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, Ky., the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will present a full program of practice, A-B Group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 30 lap, $3,000 to win 10th Annual Bluegrass Rumble A-Main. Local divisions in competition at Bluegrass Speedway on July 24 will include Super Late Models and UMP Street Stocks.

Activities for the July 23 Ponderosa Speedway date will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m. The driver’s meeting will be at 6:45 p.m., with practice set for 7:00 p.m., followed by time trials at 7:30 p.m., with racing set to begin at 8:30 p.m. All times listed are EDT. General admission ticket prices for this event will be $15, children ages 6 to 12 will be $5, children under age 6 will be free, and a pit pass will be $35.

Activities for the July 24 Bluegrass Speedway date will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m. The driver’s meeting will be at 6:00 p.m., with practice set for 6:30 p.m., followed by time trials at 7:00 p.m., with racing set to begin at or before 8:00 p.m. All times listed are EDT. General admission ticket prices for this event will be $15, children ages 6 to 12 will be $8, children under age 6 will be free, and a pit pass will be $30.

The A-Main purse for the July 23 Ponderosa Speedway event and the July 24 Bluegrass Speedway event is as follows: 1st- $3,000, 2nd- $2,000, 3rd- $1,500, 4th- $1,000, 5th- $800, 6th- $700, 7th- $600, 8th- $575, 9th- $550, 10th- $525, 11th- $500, 12th- $400, 13th- $350, 14th- $300, 15th- $275, 16th through 24th- $250 to start.

Ponderosa Speedway is a 3/8 mile red clay oval promoted by Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz. Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane, just south of Danville, Ky., off of KY Hwy. 127. Visitors will turn onto KY Hwy. 300, proceed left on KY Hwy. 37, then 1.5 miles to Phillips Lane. Bluegrass Speedway is a ½ mile high-banked clay oval promoted by David and Anita Ferrell. Bluegrass Speedway is located at 2221 New Haven Road in Bardstown, Ky. To access Bluegrass Speedway, take exit 21 of the Martha Layne Collins (Bluegrass) Parkway and the track is located right off the exit on KY Highway 31E. This will be the tour’s second stop at both tracks. The series first-ever event was held at Ponderosa Speedway back on April 2 and Randle Sweeney of Clifty, Ky., would be victorious in that event, while Jason Wheatley of Loretto, Ky., would make a last lap pass to win the tour’s stop at Bluegrass Speedway back on June 26.
