Bluegrass Speedway AMS Bluegrass Rumble $3,000 to Win on July 24

American Modified SeriesBARDSTOWN, Ky. — Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell will return with racing action to the ½ mile, high-banked Nelson County clay oval on Saturday July 24 as the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner visits for the 10th Annual Bluegrass Rumble, paying $3,000 to win for UMP Modifieds.

On Saturday July 24, the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will be in competition in a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the $3,000 to win 10th Annual Bluegrass Rumble A-Main. Also in competition at Bluegrass Speedway on July 24 will be the 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models racing for $1,000 to win and the UMP Street Stocks racing for $100 to win, while the WBRT 1320-AM UMP Sportsman have the night off. For the July 24 racing event, the Super Late Model and UMP Modified divisions will time trial, while the UMP Street Stocks will pill draw for heat race starting assignments. Also, all drivers in the UMP Street Stock division that start the A-Main for the division will receive first place track points.

Activities for the July 24 racing program will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., with the general admission area opening at 5:00 p.m. A mandatory drivers meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m. Practice will begin at 6:30 p.m., with time trials at 7:00 p.m., followed green flag race action at or before 8:00 p.m. All times are EDT. Ticket prices on July 24 will be $15 for adults, $8 for children ages 6 to 12, and children under age 6 free in the general admission area. A pit pass will cost $30.

The UMP Modified A-Main purse for the July 24 Bluegrass Speedway event is as follows: 1st- $3,000, 2nd- $2,000, 3rd- $1,500, 4th- $1,000, 5th- $800, 6th- $700, 7th- $600, 8th- $575, 9th- $550, 10th- $525, 11th- $500, 12th- $400, 13th- $350, 14th- $300, 15th- $275, 16th through 24th- $250 to start.

The Bluegrass Rumble for Modifieds was to the Bluegrass Speedway schedule in 2001 and Joe Mattingly of New Hope, KY would win the inaugural event. Benji Lee of Loretto, KY would score back-to-back wins in the 2002 and 2003 events, while Mattingly would repeat with the win in the 2004 Rumble race. Josh Lucas of Bardstown, KY would be the winner of the 2005 event, while Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN would be the race winner in 2006. Miguel Coffey of Tyner, KY would lay claim to the 2007 Rumble title, with Jason Wheatley of Loretto, KY taking the race win in 2008. Bryan Barber of Greensburg, KY would win the 2009 Bluegrass Rumble and is the defending race champion.

Bluegrass Speedway is located at 2221 New Haven Road at the intersection of Kentucky Highway 31-E and exit 21 of the Martha Layne Collins (Bluegrass) Parkway. David and Anita Ferrell are the track promoters and present dirt track sports entertainment on Saturday evenings from mid-April through September.
