Concord, NC – January 18, 2010 – DIRTcar Racing today announced the continuance of Hoosier Racing Tire as the approved tire for UMP Modified competition. First introduced 20 years ago, the premium A40, D40 and H40 have become the standards in Modified racing.
“Hoosier always has been, and continues to be an integral part of DIRTcar Racing’s mission to bring racers a standardized rules package, making it easier for any driver to race anywhere, at any time,” said Sam Driggers, UMP DIRTcar Regional Director.
Also announced is the arrival of the DCM400, a tire engineered to be used as DIRTcar Racing expands into its newest sanctioned regions. The DCM400 tire is designed for series, weekly tracks, and racers who prefer a one-compound spec tire program. It utilizes a chain link tread pattern for durability with a consistent, high-grip compound. The sidewalls and air pressure settings will be similar to the current UMP tires.
The Hoosier DCM 400 is a purpose built tire specifically for tracks in the West, South, and Northeastern United States participating under DIRTcar Racing’s sanction.
“With the new DCM400 tire, Hoosier Tire is making another significant investment in DIRTcar Racing as they have the past 20 years,” said Driggers.
DIRTcar UMP Modified action will kick off the 39th Annual DIRTcar Nationals by UNOH on February 2nd, for 8 straight nights of UMP Modified action highlighted by the 3rd Annual Gator Championship on Monday, February 8th that will pay the winner $5,000. New to the DIRTcar Nationals UMP Modified portion in 2010, the final night of action for the division on Tuesday, February 9th, will have every competitor in a 25-lap A-Main event ensuring every driver has an opportunity to race.
