John Demoss and Matt Goulden Tied Atop American Modified Series Points

American Modified SeriesGlasgow, KY-June 30, 2010- With one-third of the schedule completed, the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner has a tie for its series points lead, with a pair of drivers representing the Hoosier State and the Land of Lincoln having scored the most points at this juncture of the 2010 race season, which is the first season of competition for the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner.

John Demoss of Bloomington, IN and Matt Goulden of Springfield, IL set tied for the tour’s points lead at this point in the season, with both drivers having accumulated a total of 282 points each.  Bryan Barber of Greensburg, KY holds down the third spot in series points with 272 markers, while Robinson, IL native Brian Shaw sits in fourth position with 253 points.  Elliott Despain of Campbellsville, KY completes the top five in with a total of 235 points.

The second five in series points is lead by Mike Harrison of Highland, IL with 214 points and two series wins at Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, IL.  Youngster Rob Penny of Owensboro, KY is currently in seventh position with 206 points, while veteran Randle Sweeney of Clifty, KY sits eighth in points with 192 and one series event win at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY.  The remaining spots in the top ten in series points belong to Everett Bradham of Olney, IL with 182 points and Chad Kinder of Newton, IL with 174 points.

In positions 11th through 20th in series points at this time are Jeff Leka of Buffalo, IL, Denny Schwartz of Ashmore, IL, Tim Hancock of Mount Olive, IL, Jason Wheatley of Loretto, KY (one series win at Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY), Tommy Seets, Jr. of Alton, IL, Russ Gabbert of Berea, KY, Dave Crawley of Decatur, IL, Cody Clark, Mike Selby of Sparta, TN, and Michael Bolyard of St. Peters, IL.

The next event for the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will take place at Vermillion County Speedway in Danville, IL on Sunday July 18 that was halted due to rain back on May 1.  The A-Main purse for the Sunday July 18 Vermillion County Speedway event will be as follows: 1st– $1,500, 2nd– $1,000, 3rd– $800, 4th– $700, 5th– $600, 6th– $575, 7th– $550, 8th– $525, 9th– $500, 10th– $400, 11th– $350, 12th– $300, 13th– $275, 14th– $250, 15th through 24th– $200 to start.  After the completion of this event, there will a regular race program at the Danville, IL track that will pay $800 to the winner.
