Harrison Doubles Up in American Modified Series Action at Fayette County Speedway

Brownstown, IL-June 4, 2010- The American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner returned to action on Friday evening at the Charlie Depew promoted Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, IL and Illinois speedster Mike Harrison of Highland, IL would score a double for the evening by picking up the make-up AMS main postponed due to rain on April 30 and also won the scheduled American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner for a profitable $3,000 evening, as both A-Main wins were worth $1,500 each.

Harrison would jump to the lead at the restart of the April 30 postponed A-Main and never be headed in leading the entire remaining 22 laps of the 30 lap distance. Chad Kinder would take second, with Tim Han**** scoring a third place finish. The rest of the top five were Everett Bradham and Denny Schwartz. The remainder of the top ten would be Jeff Leka, Brian Shaw, Cody Clark, Kelly Devall, and Matt Goulden.

Harrison would get the race lead in the late stages of the regularly scheduled A-Main event to make it a sweep of A-Mains for the evening for the Highland, IL native. Tommy Seets, Jr. would finish second, with Dave Crawley finishing third. Michael Fox and Matt Goulden would complete the top five. Rounding out the top ten were Michael Bolyard, Rob Penny, Mark Tullis, Cole Hussong, and Elliott Despain.

In preliminary action, Chad Kinder would lay claim to the SPEC Race Engines top qualifier award with a lap of 14.326 seconds. Larry Anderson would win Wehr’s Machine and Racing Products heat one, Everett Bradham would win PPM Racing Products heat two, Mike Harrison would win Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil heat three, and Matt Goulden would win Wiles Driveshafts heat four. The B-Mains would be captured by Brian Shaw and Dave Crawley.

The next event for the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will take place on Saturday June 19 at Soggy Bottom Raceway in Morgantown, KY. The Saturday June 19 event will pay $1,500 to win, $200 to start the A-Main.
