Moler and Bluegrass Set to Close Out 2011 American Modified Series Campaign September 16 and September 17

American Modified SeriesGlasgow, KY-September 7, 2011- The American Modified Series is set to conclude its 2011 championship campaign with a weekend doubleheader on Friday September 16 at Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, OH and on Saturday September 17 at Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY for the 11th Annual Bluegrass Rumble. Both events will pay $1,500 to win and $200 to start.

On Friday September 16 at Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, OH, the American Modified Series will present a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and a 30 lap, $1,500 to win A-Main event. Other divisions in competition at Moler Raceway Park on September 16 will be track’s Sunesis Construction Late Models, The Big Red Book Street Stocks, and Holman Motors Chevettes.

On Saturday September 17 at Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY, the American Modified Series will present a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 30 lap, $1,500 to win 11th Annual Bluegrass Rumble A-Main event. Other divisions in competition at Bluegrass Speedway on September 17 will be the track’s 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman, and the UMP Street Stocks, who will be racing for $300 to win.
Activities for the September 16 event at Moler Raceway Park will see the pit area open at 4:30 p.m., with the general admission area also open at 4:30 p.m. The driver’s meeting will be at 6:30 p.m., with practice set for 7:00 p.m., followed by time trials at 7:45 p.m., with green flag racing following immediately after time trials. Ticket prices for the September 16 Moler Raceway Park event in the general admission area will be $15 for adults, while a pit pass will be $30.
Activities for the September 17 event at Bluegrass Speedway will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m. The driver’s meeting will be at 6:00 p.m., with practice set for 6:30 p.m. Time trials will be begin at 7:00 p.m., with racing set for the green flag at or before 8:00 p.m. Ticket prices for the September 17 Bluegrass Speedway event in the general admission area will be $15 for adults, while a pit pass will be $30.
The A-Main purses for the September 16 Moler Raceway Park event and the September 17 Bluegrass Speedway 11th Annual Bluegrass Rumble event is as follows: 1st- $1,500, 2nd- $750, 3rd- $600, 4th- $550, 5th- $500, 6th- $450, 7th- $400, 8th- $350, 9th- $325, 10th- $300, 11th- $275, 12th- $250, 13th- $230, 14th- $220, 15th through 22nd- $200 to start.
Moler Raceway Park is a ¼ mile semi-banked clay oval promoted by Kevin and Kim Moler. Moler Raceway Park is located at 2059 Harker Waits Road just outside of Williamsburg, OH. From I-275 East, take exit 63B and merge onto OH-32E toward Bativia, traveling 14.2 miles before turning left onto Dela Palma Road, which turns into Greenbush West/County Road 55 before taking a slight right onto Harker Waits Road/Township Hwy 125. Bluegrass Speedway is a ½ mile high-banked clay oval promoted by David and Anita Ferrell. The American Modified Series last competed on August 26 at Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN and Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN picked up the win the event. Kramer is also the series points leader into the championship weekend, with John Demoss of Bloomington, IN in second place in points, while Michael England of Glasgow, KY sits third in series points. Bryan Barber of Greensburg, KY is currently fourth in points, while Elliott Despain of Campbellsville, KY completes the top five in points headed into the championship weekend events.
