Macon SpeedwayMacon,IL —On June 11 get ready to welcome track owner and NASCAR titan Tony Stewart for the first time since his appearance when the track reopened under the new high profile ownership team in 2007. Also joining Tony will be NASCAR legend Mark Martin! Macon Speedway will kick off the Night of NASCAR Stars by hosting an autograph session featuring Tony Stewart and well known NASCAR star Mark Martin, so come out to the track early to get your chance to meet Tony and Mark. The gates will open at 3:00; The NASCAR stars will be signing autographs from 4:30 to 5:30 so come out early to get your autographs. You won’t want to miss the POWRi Midgets & Micros, UMP Modifieds and UMP Street Stocks as they take to the track for the crowd on Night of NASCAR Stars II.

Pick a racing series. Choose a style of race car. Name a venue. Chances are Tony Stewart has proven victorious. The driver of the No. 14 Office Depot/Old Spice Chevrolet is now racing for his new racing team, Stewart Haas Racing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Since Tony started his Nascar career, he has scored 11 championships since he first wheeled a go-kart at a Westport, IN. race track in 1978. Tony is a two-time Sprint Cup Series champion winning in 2002 and in 2005. Tony joined the NASCAR circuit by way of IRL IndyCar Series, where he was series champion in 1997. Stewart has raced just about everything including USAC’s top three national touring divisions; Midget, Sprint and Silver Crown. He is the first and only driver to have won championships in stock cars, Indy cars and open-wheel Midget, Sprint and Silver Crown cars.

“When I started racing competitively when I was about seven or eight, getting a trophy that was bigger than the other kids’ was all I cared about,” said Stewart, who entered his 11

th year in the Sprint Cup Series in 2009″. “I couldn’t have asked for more out of this life. I feel like I’m a very, very fortunate person, so no matter what happens, no matter how long I race or don’t race, the goals and everything that happens from here is just icing on the cake.” “I’ve been very lucky to do the things I’ve done.” Stewart’s racing career began at the age of seven behind the wheel of a go-kart with his father, Nelson, serving as car owner and crew chief. “He never let me settle for second,” said Stewart of his dad, who still frequents races whenever his schedule permits.

Gates open at Macon Speedway on June 11 at 3:00 PM. An autograph session with the NASCAR drivers will take place from 4:30 to 5:30 on a first-come, first-served basis. Racing starts at 6:30 PM.

All seating for the Nights of NASCAR Stars at Macon Speedway is reserved. Adult seats are $20 and seats for children 12 and under are $5 for the June 11 event. Pit passes will be $30.
