PPMS To Stage Special Practice Sessions For DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds

In anticipation of the return of DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds to Dirt’s Monster Half Mile on May 23, there will be several opportunities for racers to turn practice laps.

Any BRP/Hoosier Race Tire Modified Tour competitor can participate in an exhibition on any regular Saturday race night at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway www.ppms.com. The driver and crew will be admitted free of charge. Teams should contact Matt Miley at mmiley99@comcast.net or call 412-279-RACE to schedule exhibition laps.

In addition, an open practice is planned for all divisions Wednesday May 13 with a May 20 rain date. There will be a $20 per person charge for pit admission to the open practice. However, front gate admission will be free of charge.

Details for the May 23 return of the Big Blocks are still being finalized.

The Modified Tour, Inc. racing series is a non-profit organization established to give the V-8 Modifieds in the Western Pennsylvania area the opportunity to compete for higher purses and for a seasonal point fund. Started in 1998 by Tim Engles, Lon and Pam Baker, and Randy Myers, the Modified Tour has had great success at bringing the local cars together at the area racetracks.
