Frenchville, PAMarch 22, 2009 — By Marcie Barlow, Rougeux Motorsports PR

Western Pennsylvania Modified team owner/driver Del Rougeux Jr. has outlined a busy schedule that includes three weekly tracks and several special events during the 2009 Northeast dirt track Modified racing season.

Rougeux, 33, of Frenchville, Pennsylvania, will race weekly at DIRTcar-sanctioned Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pa.) on Friday and Tri-City Speedway (Franklin, Pa.) on Sunday, sandwiching trips to Sharon Speedway (Hartford, Ohio) in between. He will also compete in several additional tracks in the region, beginning with Hagerstown (Maryland) Speedway in the spring.

With 28 career feature wins to his credit, Rougeux was the 2003 and 2005 Modified point champion at Tri-City as well as the 2007 kingpin at Sharon. “We slipped a little last year, with only two feature wins,” said Rougeux, owner of FDR Inc., a HVAC business in Clearfield, Pennsylvania. “That’s spurred us to work even harder over the winter to make our cars better. We’re looking to be competitive right from the first green flag this season.”

Rougeux’s Modified cars are from the Bicknell Racing Products of St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, with Chevrolet-based big-block engines (467 cid) by Kriner Race Engines of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

Among the sponsors of Rougeux’s No. 20d Modified are Hirsch Meats of Kossuth, Pennsylvania; Vinyl Graphics Unlimited of Shippenville, Pennsylvania; and BC Designs & Public Relations of Adams, Massachusetts. Rougeux also has several product support sponsors, including newly-signed Keizer Racing Wheels and Spectro Oils.

“We appreciate all the companies that help us, they’re really the lifeblood of the sport,” Rougeux added, who provides a complete list of marketing partners on his website www.delrougeux.com.
