CORNWALL, Ontario – June 3, 2012 – Rain that swept across much of the country and forced the cancellation of more than a dozen dirt track events over the weekend also drenched parts of Ontario, Canada, forcing Cornwall Motor Speedway to cancel Sunday’s season openers for the DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Series and the DIRTcar Pro Stock Series.
DIRTcar Racing and track officials will work to reschedule Sunday’s events at a later date this season.
The DIRTcar Sportsman Modified schedule is packed for the fall championship run, with the next of nine series events scheduled for Friday, Sept. 7, at Ransomville (N.Y.) Speedway, followed by races on Saturday, Sept. 8, at Merrittville Speedway in Thorold, Ontario; and Sunday, Sept. 9, at Humberstone Speedway in Port Colborne, Ontario.
Next up for the DIRTcar Pro Stock Series is a big July weekend with events on Friday, July 6, at Autodrome Granby and Saturday, July 7, at Autodrome Drummond.
