Brett Hearn, Josh Richards Join Alltel Win List, Seek Votes In $12,000 Alltel All-Star Competition

Barberville, FL — Brett Hearn fought off Billy Pauch in Advance Auto Parts Big Block Modified action while Josh Richards held off Billy Moyer in the season opener of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series as the action was fast and intense on Thursday night’s Round 9 of the 37th Annual Alltel DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park.

Hearn started the night with a thrilling victory to make himself eligible for the Alltel All-Star competition while Richards was able to cool off Moyer and get himself into the contest. Now it’s up to the fans. To support your favorite Alltel DIRTcar Nationals winner, which could be worth $12,000 to that driver, cast as many votes as possible at AlltelAllStar.com, or send a text message with a driver’s Letter Code to 52191.

Hearn has been one of the hottest Big Block Modified drivers the past two years, earning the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series title in 2007 as he aims to reclaim the Florida Tour crown once again.

“They need to vote to Brett Hearn because we need to give some credibility to the Modifieds in the Northeast,” Hearn said. “I know we have a lot of people watching on DIRTVision.com and they can speak loud and clear.”

Richards is one of the rising stars in Dirt Late Model racing. Not only is he a contender for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series at only 19 years old, but he’s also a crew chief for Tony Stewart when the NASCAR star drives on dirt.

“I don’t usually have that much luck, but vote for me,” Richards said. “It’s a dream running with them.”

The Alltel All-Star contenders and their text message Letter Codes include:

Sprint Cars — Wayne Johnson, Mustang, Okla. (D), who was leading the campaign through Monday night with 27 percent of the votes; Craig Dollansky, Elk River, Minn. (F); Jason Meyers, Clovis, Calif. (H); Danny Lasoski, Dover, Mo. (J); and Donny Schatz, Fargo, N.D. (B), a two-time winner during the Alltel DIRTcar Nationals.

UMP DIRTcar Modifieds — Jesse Stovall, Branson, Mo. (A); Scott Drake, Webb City, Mo. (C); Dave Hess Jr., Waterford, Pa. (G); Tim Hancock, Mount Olive, Ill. (I); Dave Groves, Morgantown, W.Va. (K); and two-time Alltel DIRTcar Nationals winner Jared Landers, Batesville, Ark. (E).

Advance Auto Parts Big Block Modifieds — Billy Pauch, Frenchtown, N.J. (M); Brett Hearn, Sussex, N.J. (N).

The drivers have done everything they can do to win you over, now it’s up to you to decide who will win the title by voting online or through text messages.
