Macon,IL —George Mueller Distributing will be the sponsor for this week’s Lite Beer Twin 50’s. The evening will consist of two 50 lap features, one for the UMP Late Model division and the other for the UMP Modified division. Macon speedway is proud to be giving both divisions an increase in their weekly feature payout. The Late Models will be racing back to the checkered for $1,500 to win, while the UMP Modifieds will battle for $750 to win. The Lite Beer Twin 50’s will also include our other weekly divisions; Touchstone Energy Sportsman, Street Stocks and Pro and Amateur Hornets.
Don’t forget one lucky Modified driver will once again be drawn to choose his or her Best Fan in the Stands. If you are the fan that they draw that night you will win $300 due to two weeks of rollovers! The Lite Beer Twin 50’s will also be one of the races in the Midwest Big Ten Series which is a series that was designed to thank our loyal Late Model drivers for their patronage to our racing facility. The Midwest Big Ten Series has 10 races hosted at three different tracks, including Morgan County Speedway, Jacksonville, IL and Shepp’s Speedway, Alexander, IL. At the end of the series all points will be tallied and the drivers will share $10,000 in prize money depending on their point status. The next Midwest Big Ten Series race at Macon Speedway will be held on July 4 for the 95Q Firecracker 40’s. Steve Sheppard Jr leads the Big Ten race by holding off second runner up and 2008 Late Model track Champion Kyle Logue by a mere 8 points!
Join us next week on Thursday for NASCAR Night II on June 11. The action heats up at the track for the Herald & Review 100 in combination with UMP Summernationals on July 2. Return to the track for the Firecracker 40’s on our nation’s birthday, July 4, as we will definitely fire things up for the Independence Day holiday for another spectacular week at the super-fast 1/5 mile. Two time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart will be the Grand Marshall for the second Night of NASCAR Stars at Macon Speedway on June 11. Also joining Tony will be Mark Martin and Kenny Schrader. The third Night of Nascar Stars at Macon Speedway will take place on July 22 and will feature Kasey Kahne and Kenny Wallace.
