PURSE INCREASES: Lincoln, Macon, Lake Cumberland Add to Winner’s Shares

Three races on the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Late Model tour schedule have been given an $2,500 upgrade in winnings for the 38th annual season.

Lincoln Speedway (Sunday, June 25) – $7,500-to-win
Promoter Bob Sargent has upped the winner’s share of the Summer Nationals Late Model Feature to $7,500 from its original $5,000 setting for the tour’s 16th visit to Lincoln. The track hosted the unofficial “Race of the Year” on last year’s Summer Nationals slate when four drivers took center stage in an incredible, back-and-forth scramble in the closing laps that ended with Jason Feger in Victory Lane.

Lake Cumberland Speedway (Sunday, July 2) – $7,500-to-win
The 3/8-mile, red clay oval of Lake Cumberland will mark the 107th different track the Summer Nationals has visited in its 38-year history when it welcomes the Late Models (and the Summit Modifieds) for the first time on July 2. Promoter Brandon Hardgrove and sponsor Speda Supers have joined forces to present a $7,500 check to the Late Model Feature winner in the Hell Tour’s debut.

Herald & Review 100 at Macon Speedway (Thursday, July 6) – $7,500-to-win
For the first time in its 43-year history, the iconic Herald & Review 100 will hand the winner of the 100-lap Feature a $7,500 check for their triumph in one of Illinois motorsports’ most prestigious events. Never has an H&R winner took home a figure this large, thanks to new track owner/promoter Chris Kearns and the Macon Speedway family and its supporters.

As previously announced in December, Shadyhill Speedway will also be doling out a hefty purse for both divisions – $10,000-to-win the Late Model Feature and $3,000-to-win the DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals Feature in the kickoff to the final week of competition – Wednesday, July 12.

The 38th annual DIRTcar Summer Nationals and 13th annual DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals begins with the kickoff event at Peoria Speedway on Wednesday, June 14.

Tickets will be on sale at the gate on race day. If you can’t make it to the track, stream every lap of all 28 events on the 2023 schedule live on DIRTVision.
