Wick Racing Fuel and VP Racing Fuel to Sponsor AMS Summer Shootout July 23 at Ponderosa

American Modified SeriesGlasgow, KY-July 20, 2010- The American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner is proud to announce the addition of a pair of sponsors for the 6th Annual Summer Shootout at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY for this Friday July 23.

The July 23 Ponderosa Speedway event will know be known as the Wick Racing Fuel/VP Racing Fuel Summer Shootout 30 and will be sanctioned by the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner.  The AMS tour will present a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 30 lap, $3,000 to win 6th Annual Wick Racing Fuel/VP Racing Fuel Summer Shootout 30 A-Main.

Activities for the July 23 Ponderosa Speedway date will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m. The driver’s meeting will be at 6:45 p.m., with practice set for 7:00 p.m., followed by time trials at 7:30 p.m., with racing set to begin at 8:30 p.m.  All times listed are EDT.  General admission ticket prices for this event will be $15, children ages 6 to 12 will be $5, children under age 6 will be free, and a pit pass will be $35.

The A-Main purse for the July 23 Ponderosa Speedway event is as follows:  1st– $3,000, 2nd– $2,000, 3rd– $1,500, 4th– $1,000, 5th– $800, 6th– $700, 7th– $600, 8th– $575, 9th– $550, 10th– $525, 11th– $500, 12th– $400, 13th– $350, 14th– $300, 15th– $275, 16th through 24th– $250 to start.

Ponderosa Speedway is a 3/8 mile red clay oval promoted by Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz. Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane, just south of Danville, KY off of KY Hwy. 127. Visitors will turn onto KY Hwy. 300, proceed left on KY Hwy. 37, then 1.5 miles to Phillips Lane.
