Holley Backs NorthEast Championship Series ‘Hard Luck’ Awards

Weedsport, NYMarch 31, 2008 – By Tom Skibinski, DIRTcar Racing NorthEast PR Director

Long-time motorsports marketing partner Holley Performance Products has returned in support of the DIRTcar Racing NorthEast circuit as it recently signed on to offer a special award open to competitors chasing overall Hoosier Tire-Sunoco Race Fuels Mr. DIRTcar Championships in 2008.

The ‘Holley Hard Luck Award’ will be handed out following every Championship Series event contested in the Big-Block Modified, 358-Modified, Sportsman Modified and Pro Stock divisions during the upcoming race season, with one driver singled out at season’s end for having the worst luck in the series throughout the year.

“Holley has been one of the most avid supporters of DIRTcar Racing over the years and we’re happy to have the company back involved in our touring series,” said Cory Reed, DIRTcar Racing NorthEast Director of Competition & Track Sanctioning. “Holley has everyone’s respect in the auto market area so we’re happy that company officials continue to see the value in DIRTcar by offering such great incentives.”

Holley Performance will offer gift certificates up to $400 in value to the driver selected by the Series staff presiding over each event as the one suffering the worst luck. At the end of the year, DIRTcar NE officials will vote on one driver in each series as a whole and those drivers will receive a new Holley HP model 4150 Carburetor of their choice. To be eligible for any award, drivers must display the Holley decals prominently on each side of their car and DIRTcar will provide a competition director to verify the proper display.

Based in Bowling Green, Kentucky, with a history that dates back as far as 1899, Holley today is a major manufacturer of aftermarket components used in racing, street, marine, powersports, and industrial high-performance engines. Holley’s extensive product lines include performance carburetors, superchargers, intake manifolds, ignition systems, fuel pumps and exhaust systems. The company also produces remanufactured carburetors and fuel injection components and Holley Performance products are found at major retailers like Advance Auto Parts, the primary sponsor of the premier Big-Block Modified Series since 1999.
