Mr. DIRTcar Modified Championship Series Starts Up Summer In June

Advance Auto Part Super DIRTcar Series 2009Weedsport, NYMay 31, 2009 – By Tom Skibinski, DIRTcar Racing Northeast PR Director

The month of June on the Hoosier Tire-VP Racing Fuels Mr. DIRTcar Championship trail will be the calm before the storm as summer series action begins to heat up.

With touring teams getting May off to re-stock race equipment and regroup finances, only the Big-Block Mod squad will be in action as three June events are scheduled in the 2009 Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series.

The Advance Series provides the setting for a unique dirt/asphalt doubleheader to kick off the first weekend. The Abele Tractor & Greylock Federal Credit Union 100 on June 6 is the first-ever tour stop staged at Lebanon Valley Speedway in June while ‘The Battle of Plattsbugh 100’ at Airborne Speedway on June 7 is the only special of the year run on asphalt.

In one of the only mid-week events on tap throughout the entire season, THE BIG SHOW presented by veteran racer Brett Hearn at Orange County Fair Speedway arrives on June 17, with racers from New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania set to converge on the ‘hard clay’ for the biggest event of the summer in Middletown.

Overall Mr. DIRTcar Champions will once again be determined by tabulating points earned in the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series for Big-Block Modifieds and the Mr. DIRTcar Championship Series for 358-Modified, Sportsman and Pro Stock teams along with bonuses collected in each divisional DIRTcar Regional Racing Series. This year the track bonus formula is identical for all four touring classes.
