C.D. Beauchamp wins DIRTcar Pro Stock Series Championship, Bushey first-time Series winner

BROCKVILLE, ONT – October 19, 2019 – In Victory Lane, a young rookie named Tyler Bushey was filled with emotion, and with him the wily veteran C.D. Beauchamp, the 2019 DIRTcar Pro Stock Series Champion. Bushey, exuberant, and green and the happy-go-lucky Beauchamp made for an entertaining Victory Lane celebration after an already superb race.

Bushey outraced runner-up Stephane Lebrun to take the checkered flag at Brockville Ontario Speedway for the Loud & Dirty Northeast Fall Nationals. Second-place points runner Jay Corbin rounded out the podium in third.

Tyler Bushey, former successful Street Stocker driver, moved up into the DIRTcar Pro Stocks this year. Even at the green flag, the rookie was excited, but he settled down and dueled with top driver Stephane Lebrun to take the win.

“The first lap I just about drove it off the track!” Bushey exclaimed in Victory Lane. “Those cautions…Lebrun is good and he ran me real hard. It was good and clean,” Bushey said with a cracking voice. The enthusiasm and joy were palpable from the young DIRTcar Pro Stock driver.

“If you told me I was going to win this tonight, I would have told you, you were out on Mars,” he said with a laugh. “The last few times we ran this car it didn’t go so well. Tonight, it was just hooked up.”

Bushey is no stranger to “The Bullring”. He’s turned a lot of laps in the similar Street Stock formula.

“Knowing the track and knowing where you gotta put the car was a huge advantage. We actually put the street stock setup in this car and apparently it works in this too.”

French-Canadian Stephane Lebrun was pleased with the clean race and fast racetrack.

“The track is very good and tacky. The driver [Tyler Bushey] he’s a good driver and ran clean.”

Jay Corbin needed an excellent finish and C.D. Beauchamp to finish poorly.

“Third is not bad at all. This is the second time I’ve been here. Last time I was here was about two years ago. I was battling for the lead then, but I had a deep starting spot tonight. Nothing went my way tonight,” said Corbin. “The Championship came down to the end. He [Beauchamp] is a good competitor and he deserves it. I want to congratulate him on the Championship, and it was a good run for our team.”

C.D. Beauchamp has been crowned the DIRTcar Pro Stock Series Champion for 2019. He had a tough trip to Oswego where he seemed to have an unbalanced race car for much of the week. The veteran driver combined wins with consistency throughout the year to nail down the Championship.

“We had eight wins all year long at Plattsburgh and elsewhere. The main thing this year was the DIRTcar Pro Stock Series Championship and we made it. This is the main target. The next step will be to win the Hoosier Racing Tire Weekly Championship.”

Marc Lalonde and his all high-school race crew were the recipient of a free tire courtesy of valuable DIRTcar partners Hoosier Racing Tire.

Next up, the DIRTcar Pro Stocks are heading down to The Dirt Track at Charlotte for the DRIVEN Racing Oil World Short Track Championship October 31 to November 2.
