Safety-Kleen Mr. DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds in Spotlight at All-Star Weekend

Unique Safety-Kleen Shootout for weekly point leaders creates buzz at Rolling Wheels

WEEDSPORT, N.Y. – April 20, 2011 – The top weekly DIRTcar Big-Block Modified racers will be in the spotlight on May 29 for the final event of All-Star Weekend at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park when the new and unique Safety-Kleen Shootout takes the green flag.

A 25-lap battle at the high-speed 5/8th-mile oval just west of Syracuse in Elbridge will decide who is king of all the drivers who compete every week at tracks throughout the Northeast. The Safety-Kleen Mr. DIRTcar Big-Block Modified point leaders from each of the DIRTcar tracks in the region, as well as the top two in the Super DIRTcar Series standings following the 60-lap All-Star Weekend race, will be battling for the $2,500 top prize.

“We are really excited for the Safety-Kleen Shootout because it rewards the competitors who race every week at their local tracks,” said Joe Skotnicki, DIRTcar Director of Series and Sanctioning. “A strong weekly program at DIRTcar tracks will make the Super DIRTcar Series stronger in the long run so we are very pleased to be able to create this event with Safety-Kleen to benefit those racers who pour their hearts into racing week in and week out.”

Several tracks have already kicked off their seasons, including Glen Ridge Motorsports Park, Lernerville Speedway and Orange County Fair Speedway. Lebanon Valley Speedway and Canandaigua Speedway begin their seasons on Saturday, April 23.

The Safety-Kleen Shootout adds even more intrigue to the huge day, which begins with DIRT Hall of Fame inductions in Weedsport before the festivities shift to Rolling Wheels for the racing, which in addition to the Super DIRTcar Series 60-lapper and the Safety-Kleen Shootout will also include a Pro Stock/Stock Car Challenge.
