Hearn Seeks Glory At Alltel DIRTcar Nationals By UNOH

2009 DIRTcar NationalsBarberville,FL — Jan. 14, 2009 — Only 20 days until the green flag waves on the 38th Annual DIRTcar Nationals By UNOH, which will mark the 12th consecutive season the mighty Big-Block Modifieds from the DIRTcar Racing Northeast Region have kicked off their year at Volusia Speedway Park.

While the 2009 event from Feb. 3-14 makes it a dozen years in a row for the Advance Auto Parts Modifieds at the high-speed, half-mile oval near Daytona Beach, Fla., 1978 was actually the first year teams from the Northeast ventured south to contend for Big-Block bragging rights. In between, many memorable moments have surrounded the annual Modified migration and plenty more are waiting to be exposed in DIRTcar racing’s own 21st trip to Florida this February.

The Big-Blocks celebrated their 30th Anniversary last winter with four action-packed races and four different winners headlining the 2008 Alltel DIRTcar Nationals By UNOH special. In typical fashion it was the ‘Jet’ Brett Hearn once again landing in Victory Lane, where he has been recognized every year but one since 1998. The all-time Alltel DIRTcar Nationals Big-Block winner with 18 victories, last February Hearn also nailed down an unprecedented 7th Florida Tour points title in the past 11 years, tying fellow New Jersey all-star Billy Pauch for top honors in the mid-winter bash.

To see who emerges as a star in the 38th running of the Alltel DIRTcar Nationals By UNOH, make sure to reserve your favorite seats in advance. With infield trailer heights limited to 9 feet, 6 inches, there are no bad seats in the grandstands at Volusia Speedway Park, merely 15 miles inland from Ormond Beach on State Road 40. Take advantage of special “Super Ticket” deals that offer seats for all the events contested by each headline division, including the six-day Sprint Car events beginning Feb. 3, the six-day Dirt Late Model races beginning Feb. 9, eight nights of UMP DIRTcar Modified action beginning Feb. 3, and four Advance Auto Parts DIRTcar Big-Block Modified races beginning Feb. 11.
