Super DIRT Week Qualifiers Speeding Towards Syracuse

The official kick off to Super DIRT Week XXXVII is now less than four months away and nearly 20 guaranteed and preferred starting positions have already been landed by drivers competing in the four major divisions showcased during DIRTcar Racing NorthEast’s premier event scheduled for October 7-12.

Qualifying races leading up to the Rite Aid 200 headliner for the Big-Block Modifieds on Sunday, Oct. 12 have been run as part of the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series with the sister Small-Block class staging a number of special events locking in spots for the ITT Corporation/Goulds Pumps “Salute To The Troops” 150 358-Modified Championship set for Saturday, Oct. 11.

A handful of racers have also gained automatic starting berths in the Town Mechanical Sportsman Championship (Oct. 11) and BNC Motorsports Pro Stock Championship (Oct. 12) finals slated for the Syracuse Mile on the New York State Fairgrounds over Columbus Day Weekend.

Reigning Super DIRT Week race champions are Vic Coffey (Mod), Brett Hearn (358), Sammy Reakes IV (Spt) and Don Carlson (Pro), with all four drivers expected back to defend their Salt City titles come autumn.
