Exemption Dash Series Qualifiers Set For All-Star Weekend At Cayuga County

All Star WeekendWeedsport, NYMay 17, 2009 – By Tom Skibinski, DIRTcar Racing Northeast PR Director

The inaugural DIRTcar All-Star Weekend, July 17-19, at Cayuga County Fair Speedway continues to gain ground as a special qualifying series has been established for the first-ever ‘All-Star Exemption Dash’ for Big-Block Modifieds.

Offering a full purse in the 15-lap preliminary event on Saturday, July 18, the Exemption Dash will automatically lock the top-two finishers into the pre-race draw for the history-making $20,000-to-win ‘DIRTcar All-Star 100’ on Sunday, July 19.

Shining the spotlight on those DIRTcar Racing Northeast circuit tracks hosting the Big-Block Modifieds on a regular basis, along with the select group of sites hosting an Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series event prior to All-Star Weekend, the winner —or next in line without a spot— of each Exemption Dash Qualifier will earn a guaranteed starting berth in the $500-to-win Saturday night showdown.

This unique qualifying series kicks off over Memorial Day Weekend with the Big-Block winners at Cayuga County Fair Speedway on May 24 and Canandaigua Speedway on May 25 the first to receive an invitation to this truly all-star cash dash.

Along with every Advance Series show scheduled in June and July, Lernerville and Tri-City speedway officials have highlighted BRP Modified Tour stops, Brewerton Speedway hosts a dash qualifier on Bob McCreadie Nite, Can-Am Motorsports Park has secured a summer date during its own Budweiser Shootout, while Glen Ridge Motorsports Park has piggy-backed Advance Series specials in early June to find its own All-Star Weekend representative.

And with the Western PA/Ohio BRP Modified Tour reaching the halfway mark by mid-July, the current points leader at that time will also secure a bid in the Exemption Dash.

Reserved seats and reserved camp sites for the inaugural DIRTcar All-Star Weekend are on sale now at Cayuga County Fair Speedway (315/834-6606). A two-day reserved ticket purchased in advance is a bargain at only $49, and includes a Saturday pit pass. Camping permits are $50 for reserved spots and $30 for general camping while infield parking and access to the infield stage will also be available on race day.
