New Hoosier Modified Tire Debut Delayed Two Weeks

Hoosier Racing TireWeedsport, NYMay 28, 2008 – By Tom Skibinski, DIRTcar Racing NorthEast PR Director

The anticipated debut of the new Hoosier D200 has been pushed back to Friday, June 13. The new tire was originally scheduled to be legal for use beginning May 30, however, the date has been pushed back two weeks by DIRTcar management to ensure the distribution pipeline is completely full before the tire is made legal.

“We want to be certain that everyone that wants to get the new D200 can get an ample supply,” said Cory Reed, DIRTcar NorthEast Director of Series & Track Sanctioning. “Our goal has always been to maintain a fair playing field for all competitors while putting on the best possible show for the fans. We’re excited about the new tire as it should perform well and teams will hopefully have less tire prep work to do.”

A new numbering system will also be in effect as 2008 tires roll off the production line and these numbers may be used interchangeably throughout the remainder of the 2008 season. Along with the new Hoosier D200, the existing DIRT soft compound will be labeled D300, the existing DIRT hard compound will be labeled D400 and the DIRT Extra Hard compound will become D500.

2008 marks the 13th straight season that Hoosier has been the tire of choice for DIRTcar NE Racing. For further questions regarding the Hoosier Tire compounds available for use in 2008, please contact Cory Reed in the DIRTcar NorthEast Office (315/834-6606) or log into the DIRTcar homepage at www.dirtcar.com to find out more about the entire circuit.
