Entering Saturday’s DIRTcar Sportsman Series East Region event at Bear Ridge Speedway, all six Features have been won by a driver from either Vermont or New Hampshire.
That didn’t change in the Series’ seventh visit either, as Kevin Chaffee led every lap to score his first career DIRTcar Sportsman Series victory.
Chaffee took the lead on the race’s opening lap, sneaking by pole-sitter Matt Ellsworth by the time they reached the start/finish line. Behind him, two-time Series winner and defending East Region champion Jason Gray started moving forward, grabbing second by Lap 9.
However, that’s the closest Gray would get to Chaffee, as the Bradford, VT driver survived two restarts to earn the Victory at his hometown track.
Gray finished second, followed by Matt Lashua, Max Dolliver, and DJ Robinson.
With his seventh-place finish, Zach Buff clinched the 2025 East Region title, his first DIRTcar Sportsman Series Regional championship.
