It’s been 16 years since Pete Stefanski won a DIRTcar Pro Stock Series race at Autodrome Drummond. But on Saturday night, he proved he still knew the path to Victory Lane at the “F1 of Dirt.”

The North Tonawanda, NY driver stormed past Bastien Caron with two laps to go to score his first Series win of 2025.

Devon Camenga led the field to the green flag in the 50-lap Feature, nosing out ahead of the 24-car field on Lap 1. But that lead was short-lived, as Caron’s momentum carried him past Camenga’s No. 110 as they raced on Lap 2.

Behind Caron, Marc Lalonde started moving forward, passing Camenga for second on Lap 4 and setting his sights on Caron. Lalonde wasn’t the only car moving forward, though, as Stefanski, the four-time and defending Series champion, worked his way into fifth by Lap 17.

As Caron continued his pace up front, Stefanski continued moving forward, going from fifth to third on a Lap 30 restart, and driving by Lalonde for second on Lap 37. From there, Stefanski started catching Caron, keeping pace with the No. 73 car before his opportunity finally came.

With two laps to go, Stefanski snuck by Caron as they battled on Drummond’s 1/2-mile track, taking the lead as the two drivers took the white flag. Stefanski wouldn’t be denied from there, holding on to score the $1,350 (CAN) prize, and earning his 28th career Series triumph, the most all-time.

Caron held on to finish second, narrowly missing out on his first Series win in his first Series start. Marc Lalonde, from Plantagenet, ON, finished third, earning his second consecutive Series top five.

Burton Ward finished fourth, also earning his second straight top five finish. The Massena, NY, driver also leads the point standings after two races. He’s ahead of Stefanski by four points entering the next event at Brewerton Speedway.

Denis Gauvreau rounded out the top five.

UP NEXT: The DIRTcar Pro Stock Series joins the Super DIRTcar Series on Monday, Aug. 18, for a stop at Brewerton Speedway during SummerFAST.
