Troyer Race Cars continues full speed ahead in its 33rd year of operation and in just two more weeks the Rochester, New York-based car builder will kick off 2009 in fast fashion by providing a complimentary day of informative seminars and an ‘Open House’ on January 10.

While the all-day affair scheduled at the familiar 4555 Lyell Road location on the southwest side of the Flower City is free to racers, those interested must still register by January 3, 2009 to participate in the special in-house activities.

“This is an important gathering for anyone that is serious about racing, establishing some solid off-season contacts and making a number of early decisions for the upcoming year,” said TRC President Billy Colton, himself a former racer who hung up his helmet in order to focus strictly on the business. Founded in 1977 by all-time great Northeastern Modified racer Maynard Troyer, Colton became sole owner in 1999 adhering to the same premise of service with satisfaction that has established Troyer Race Cars as one of the most successful race car manufacturing businesses in the country.

“The focus of Troyer Race Cars has been and will continue to be on our customers and the race cars we build for them. Every builder always wants to sell more cars, we’re no different. But we’re still happy to grow at a steady pace, fast enough to keep busy and slow enough to allow time for personal attention as 100% service is what we’re really all about,” added Colton, who has remained an integral part of the Troyer team for a quarter-century with his first managerial position taken in 1989.

Joined at the head of the class by Bob Muller, Colton will begin conducting morning chassis seminars on Saturday at 8 a.m. sharp. The list of special guest speakers already on the docket covering chassis set-up, car maintenance, safety, shocks, tires and carburetion includes Scott Keyser (Integra Shocks), Lynnie Doughton (DRP Performance), Steve Baker (Baker Carburetion), Derek Spencer (Performance Friction) and successful Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block driver Jimmy Phelps and Mod racer Chuck Hossfeld.

Following a light lunch at noon, the H&H Motorsports Open House portion of the day’s festivities will take place in the Parts Department beginning at 1 p.m. Demonstrations will be offered by the entire Troyer staff with discounts offered on many products and specials announced throughout the day. In addition, a silent auction will be held to benefit the Spalding Foundation with door prizes drawn during the afternoon.
