Cornwall track champion also earned 2015 Mr. DIRTcar honors
WEEDSPORT, N.Y. – Thursday, October 15 – It’s been a highly successful season for DIRTcar NE Pro Stock driver Dave Bissonette of Cornwall, Ontario.
Bissonette finished fifth in the Pro Stock 25-lap feature during the 44th NAPA Super Dirt Week Finale at the Fairgrounds event and became the 2015 DIRTCar NE Pro Stock Series champion for the second time in three years.
Bissonette had two wins and five top-10’s in the Pro Stock Series, besting last year’s champion Jocelyn Roy by 63 points. Earlier this season, he successfully defended his Cornwall Speedway Pro Stock title.
In addition, Bissonette outpointed Nick Stone by two points and Robbie Speed by four points to earn the 2015 Mr. DIRTcar title determined by drivers’ best 16 finishes in weekly and series races.
Driving the Marc Roy Motorsports/Anne Vista Farms/NAPA Auto Parts No. 47 with additional sponsorship support from Robert Young and General Truck Repair, Bissonette recorded five combined wins at Cornwall, Autodrome Granby and Le RPM Speedway with 19 top-5’s in 27 starts.
“It’s been a great year,” Bissonette said. “My thanks to my crew chief Gilles Burrell. I owe him everything.”
Bissonette will be honored at the 2015 Champions Banquet Saturday, Nov. 21 at the Holiday Inn Syracuse/Liverpool, Liverpool, N.Y.
